My Journey to UX
Ever since I was little, I have had a natural passion for art, balance/imbalance, and out-of-the-box thinking. I was the kid who asked 5 million questions--to both understand the
why but also the
why not as my mind thought of other ways to do things.
This curiosity and love for everything creative led me to a Bachelors in Graphic Design. From there, I
dove into consulting and never looked back.
I thrive on the variety.
I enjoy constantly learning & adapting to new industry domains & technical landscapes. I love collaborating with new people.
The Clients & Projects -------
From government and higher education projects with lots of usability & accessibility testing, to rapid 4-week strategy engagements with discovery workshops and a concept prototype; I have done it all. Through all this variety, ambiguity (at times), and discomfort (at times) I remain challenged and humbled in my craft--continuing to learn from other perspectives and teaching the ones I have acquired on my journey. Additionally, my technical aptitude for front-end (HTML, CSS, and light scripting skills) has helped establish a strong collaboration with development and quality engineering on any team I work on.
The Leadership -------
I am a servant leader who has spent the past 9 years focused on empowering and nurturing others in their career growth. As a
Practice Lead, I supported the designers as a mentor, assisted with their project plans, established delivery consistency, and coordinated training to ensure skills alignment across the team. Now as a
Community Manager, I continue to grow these strengths by leading with empathy and continuous gratitude. I work hard to foster the relationships and community environment that both inspires creatives and makes them thrive at work.
